  1. Thanks, Gail! We’re time-shifting our Christmas (accommodating all the various grandparents) so this year Christmas is Dec. 28th for us – will let you know how it was!

  2. What an enjoyable Christmas greeting, Gail, and well done! I especially liked you pondering the collapse of the publishing industry while doing the hoola hoop in your Santa Claus costume! Very funny. Very merry Xmas to you & Porter. Vicki

    • And Julia, you and Marty at Centennial Canoe are outstanding canoe guides! We look forward to another trip with you soon.

  7. Great video–light and fun, just like you two! As long as we keep on having fun, we’ll make it through publishing chaos. I’m looking forward to celebrating our friendship throughout 2011 and beyond– xo

  8. Well done. A highly entertaining & lightly edited two minutes of the storied Storey lifestyle.
I loved it and will be showing it to Cha-Cha during our first cocktail on Christmas eve.
    Have a merry holiday season.

  9. I love your Christmas video (particularly the cute Mrs. Santa using the hoola-hoop!) We look forward to seeing you on Friday!

  10. Fun video! Happy New Year to you …. looking forward to lots of posts in 2011. Oh wait! If you write lots of posts that means you’re not writing your memoir and I really want to read the memoir. So … write lots and post when you can 🙂

  11. Rock on, girlfriend! This Christmas “letter” is so much fun. How about doing one for Valentine’s Day and Easter and Independence Day and, ummm, George Washington’s birthday? Or Michelle Obama’s, that would be ok with me. Your creativity is inspiring. Let’s meet up for lunch soon so I can enjoy your fun and loving spirit in person.
    love,

  12. Woo-Hoo! Love the Hula, Porter & your being face, & Son claiming to be in med school–a great video!
Here in Jersey (New), waiting for snow. Will decorate the first ever Ganesan Gingerbread house, with little niece in charge of decorating! Searching for more plot–sis-in-law suggests looking near CDs…
    HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

  13. I see you are rocking out as usual…thanks for the message and the fun! We are hanging around, having a low-key day at home then joining friends for a home-made Mexican feast! Merry Christmas!

  14. Thanks so much for the wonderful Christmas greetings! You never fail to amaze me, make me smile and laugh, and all those good things!

Wishing you, Porter and the whole family a very Merry Christmas and all the best in 2011.

    xoxo

  15. What a great video. Made me smile, qhich is a good thing right now, because I’m taking a short E-mail break before embarking on the challenge of making tamales again. I wish I could round up a cadre of Mexican ladies to help! Feliz Navidad to you and yours — and we”ll see you next year.

  16. What a great Christmas card/video!! I’m still hoping to get cards out by January. We had a great Christmas; peaceful which is always a good thing!! Hope your 2011 is awesome.

  17. Great video, Gail!! I love the hoop dancing Ms. Claus. What shenanigans do you have cooked up for New Year’s Eve? Happy 2011 to you and Porter!
    Love, Lynn

  18. Happy Holidays to you and yours, Gail! I saw your son did Savagemen, which we were planning on this year, only it didn’t fit with Silverman training. I bet we’ve overlapped some races with your son and have probably had similar experiences enjoying the art of eating after, too. : ) Love your hula hooping especially–you carry it off so well with your infectious zest for life!

    • Tamara, will do! Have been busy working on my Pacific Crest Trail book, but am bursting with hiking/wilderness-related blog posts.

  19. 2010? The thrill of victory; the agony of defeat. I went to Peru and (along with a few hundred other people) helped Jorge Luis Delgado and the Peruvian elders reactivate the solar disc on behalf of planet Earth and her people. On December 29th, my husband died. Life is a mystery. So is death. And all is well.

  20. Gail, how did I miss this during the holiday season??? Oh, that’s right. The holidays this year were a bit unusual for us, with Tim’s mom dying on December 29. The peace and love that surrounded her family were a highlight of last year for me. Other highlights included finding an agent and getting a book proposal sent out. (At last!) Thanks for your always-entertaining holiday video.
